Friday, August 11, 2006 ::: AND THE NEXT RECORD YOU SHOULD GET IS... She's the girl who used to be in the band called Sixpence None The Richer, remember her? Without much promotion this has almost slipped my mind. Leigh Nash has been posting songs from her solo album on her myspace for so long and I've loved the songs ever since and could happily decide that the 'Sixpence' sound is not lost and finally after the long wait the album is seeing a release date, and the date happens to be 15th August which is next Tuesday! The first single released for this album is 'My Idea of Heaven'. It's actually a very Sixpence song. It's soft, it's breezy, it's uplifting with a hint of melancholy in it, and it's in every way beautifully crafted. Leigh's vocals are just as captivating as ever - it's fragile yet it's powerful and no other artists possess a voice like hers. Her voice and her tunes are perfect match and you bet her album's going to sound amazing. Judging from this leading single that might be even superior to Sixpence's 'Breathe My Name' - and the very amazing 'Along The Wall', I can confidently say that her album is going to be amazing. Maybe I shouldn't expect another Divine Discontent, but that's perhaps because she's no longer discontent - she's so content with her life now, ever since her son's born, she is now a very happy mom. We can all tell from her diary posted on her myspace. Although there are other exciting releases coming up, like Justin's FutureSex/LoveSounds, The Killers' Sams Town and Robbie's 1974, Leigh Nash's 'Blue On Blue' might be overlooked by many but might actually be the best album of the year, and might be the album everyone must get, perhaps after Lily Allen's 'Alright, Still'.
